The Big Bold Swim isn’t about distance or numbers — it’s about commitment. For Meg,
this challenge is deeply personal, inspired by watching her cousin face breast cancer
with strength, courage, and resilience. It’s about choosing to show up, day after day, for a
cause that quietly touches so many lives. Breast cancer doesn’t arrive with permission,
and its impact reaches far beyond diagnosis, affecting families, friends, and entire communities
This 30-kilometre swim across February represents consistency and perseverance
rather than a single moment of effort. Every session is a reminder that meaningful change
is built through repeated action, not grand gestures. Some days feel strong,
others feel heavy — but progress happens by continuing forward anyway.
The swim is also a way to turn movement into purpose. Swimming has always been about
rhythm and resilience — one breath, one stroke, one length at a time. In the same way,
awareness and research move forward through steady support and shared responsibility.
By taking on this challenge, the Big Bold Swim aims to raise awareness, start conversations,
and encourage support for ongoing breast cancer research and care. It’s not about recognition
or records — it’s about contributing in a way that feels real, human, and grounded.
Every kilometre completed carries intention. Every show of support helps strengthen the message
that no one affected by breast cancer walks the journey alone.

Meg is currently swimming 30 kilometres to raise awareness and support breast cancer trials. These photos capture one of her 2km sessions — whether it’s an outdoor pool day or an indoor swim, she shows up and gets it done. Lap after lap, it’s steady commitment, quiet determination, and purpose behind every stroke.
This challenge is bigger than the distance. Every kilometre represents hope, research, and better outcomes for women and families affected by breast cancer. We couldn’t be more proud of the effort and heart she’s putting into this journey. 💗
And then there are moments like this — 30KM completed 💗 A huge milestone, but not the finish line. She’s still showing up every single day throughout February, continuing to swim in support of breast cancer trials. The distance may be done, but the dedication isn’t.
Some days are tough. The body feels heavy, the laps feel longer, and motivation has to be dug a little deeper. But the commitment stays the same — just show up. Even on the hard days, Meg gets in the water and keeps moving, because this challenge is about something bigger than comfort.
Thirty kilometres of early mornings, sore shoulders, and moments where I had to dig deep and remember why I started. Not every day was easy. But every single lap carried purpose.
The milestone is reached — but the battle doesn’t end here. And neither do we. I’m still swimming out the rest of February because this is bigger than distance. It’s about hope, research, and standing with every woman and family facing breast cancer.
